Here is my new blog. I am starting to document life in music videos. A little about myself, I am a freelance cinematographer from New Orleans, LA currently stationed in Savannah GA. I have just finished school and i have been working professionally for at least two years now. Working on music videos is fun... when you have the right crew i feel but then again so is everything when you have the right crew.
I'm just starting out so ill start with a small little rant.
So I'm working on a music video and its low budget small artist/label and we are shooting a spot in two days two locations. Your typical tweenie bopper summertime pop song.... (it was rough getting through those two days my ears were ringing from the treble in the playback) I was taught in school that everyone has a specific job and its was strict... and thats how it was "in the industry" and its true on bigger sets.... but when you are dealing with a 3,000 dollar budget and three people on the "crew." one doing camera two doing lights... notice i said there wasnt a DP on set... luckily the other guy doing lighting was a good friend of mine... my roommate... we understand how each other work and can play off of it... it was just weird to me... thats all i have to say for now ill keep everyone updated
